My friends and I recently visited this restaurant on a Friday night, hoping for a fun and delicious meal together. However, our experience was a bit of a mixed bag, and unfortunately, the last straw has led us to decide not to return. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not even half full, it took a frustratingly long 15 minutes for a server to come over and take our order. In fact, I had to physically get up and flag her down myself. The food itself was disappointing as well. The Carnitas were dry, and overall, everything we ordered was just mediocre. It felt like the restaurant was serving the worst type of generic Mexican food - large portions that were overpriced, drowning in sauce to try and mask the fact that the meat was dry. To add to our frustration, when we were ready to pay and leave, we had to search for someone to bring us the check, even though the restaurant was practically empty by then. It seemed like the management and staff were not paying attention to our table at all, as if they already assumed they would be getting a 20% tip just because we were a group of six. Overall, I have to say that I will not be returning to this restaurant. There are simply too many better dining options in the area when it comes to Mexican cuisine. Spending over $200 for a meal for six people, only to receive subpar food and service, is not worth it. That $40 tip will be the last one I ever give to this establishment. less

Over the weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Los Moles and were blown away by the exceptional service provided by a server named Laura. Her upbeat demeanor and attentiveness to our table truly made our dining experience unforgettable. Laura made sure our glasses were always filled and offered fantastic recommendations, including the buffet option and the Camarones en Mole De Mango dish, both of which were absolutely delicious. If you find yourself in the area, I urge you to visit Los Moles and see for yourself what makes this restaurant stand out. And if you're lucky enough to be served by Laura, you're in for a treat! Thank you, Laura, for your outstanding service! less

I recently visited this restaurant for a small holiday party dinner and tried their Mole Mama Elena with Chicken, which was absolutely delicious. I also ordered their seasonal drink, the Ponche, and ended up having two because it was just that good. However, I have to mention that the service was seriously lacking due to the restaurant being understaffed. It seemed like there were other large groups as well, which may have contributed to the wait times. We sat outside, which could have also played a role in us feeling neglected. Some members of our party waited well over an hour for their food, and it seemed like my order was completely forgotten as they were asking me about it for the first time after such a long wait. Even my drink took a while to arrive, despite it being a punch that shouldn't have taken too long to make. Despite the service issues, the staff were incredibly nice and I could tell they were trying their best. I feel for them being so overwhelmed and understaffed. Unfortunately, my friends' margaritas were undrinkable as they were too tart. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and even had delicious leftovers. I'm considering visiting their Emeryville location as it's closer to me and I want to try more of their moles. I'm hopeful that the service issues I experienced were just a one-time fluke and that they can improve by hiring more staff. less

Tucked away in the unexpected location of el Cerrito lies a true hidden gem of a restaurant that defies the lackluster food reputation of the city. While sushi and Chinese eateries may dominate the area with mediocre ratings, there is one standout spot that deserves a visit. Located across from Honda of el Cerrito, this restaurant offers a variety of protein options including Bria, asada, pork, and chicken, served in delicious entrees such as tamales, enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. However, the real star of the show at this establishment is their incredible MOLE sauce - not to be confused with the mole on my own middle finger, of course. This savory, sweet, and sometimes spicy sauce can elevate any dish to new heights. With six different selections available, my personal favorite being the habanero, there is a flavor for everyone to enjoy. In addition to the outstanding food options, the restaurant also boasts a full stocked bar with over 20 different tequilas and cognacs for the grown n sexy crowd. The complimentary chips and fantastic salsa only add to the dining experience, along with the option to dine on the outdoor deck on warm evenings. And let's not forget the convenient location right off the freeway. If you are searching for a memorable date night or simply a change from the ordinary dining options in the area, look no further than this hidden gem of a restaurant. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. less

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this delightful restaurant and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the wide array of dishes offered on the buffet. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. I decided to try the posole and I was blown away by how delicious it was. The flavors were rich and the texture was just right. However, when I tried the menudo, I found that it was a bit overcooked for my liking. Despite this minor hiccup, I still enjoyed my meal overall and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. less

Recently, I decided to treat myself to a delicious takeout meal from a restaurant that came highly recommended by a friend. I ordered a variety of dishes including appetizers and dessert, excited to indulge in a feast at home. However, upon arriving home and eagerly unpacking my order, I quickly realized that a significant portion of my order was missing. I felt disappointed and frustrated, as I was looking forward to enjoying all the dishes I had ordered. The food that I did receive was tasty, but it was overshadowed by the fact that I was missing a significant part of my order. To make matters worse, when I called the restaurant to inform them about the missing items, the hostess made a flippant remark suggesting that I should drive all the way back to the restaurant to pick up the missing items. This lack of concern for their mistake only added to my disappointment. In the end, I requested a refund instead of making the trek back to the restaurant. While the food I did receive was enjoyable, the overall experience left much to be desired. I hope that in the future, the restaurant pays more attention to fulfilling orders accurately and provides better customer service to prevent similar situations from happening. less

Even though I have dietary restrictions, I decided to give this restaurant a try. I ordered a vegan dish in hopes of getting a hearty mix of vegetables, but all I got was a plate full of potatoes smothered in a tasty mole sauce. While the dish was delicious, I felt like $20 was a bit pricey for what I received. Perhaps opting for the regular version would have been a better choice. less

Sunday brunch at this restaurant is simply amazing! The variety and quality of food offered at the buffet are truly impressive. And let's not forget about their incredible selection of micheladas - definitely a must-try! The staff is always attentive and goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience for me and my loved ones. Can't wait to go back again soon! less

The restaurant offers a variety of seating options both indoors and outdoors, allowing guests to choose their preferred dining environment. The food was exceptional, and I particularly enjoyed the buffet option available. The drinks were also delicious and complemented the meal perfectly. However, it is worth mentioning that the restaurant only allows for the check to be split three ways evenly. For those who prefer individual checks, I recommend clearly stating your preference to avoid any confusion. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I would definitely recommend it to others. less

I had the most delicious meal at this restaurant. The service was decent, but I was a bit taken aback by the fact that they allowed pets to sit so close to the tables. I understand that there is an outdoor area where customers can bring their dogs, but I personally found it a bit uncomfortable to eat next to a dog sitting close to other diners in the indoor dining area. less
